3 Hour Tour at Verizon

PerryZadeVicHello People!

This weekend has been great. You see, the parentals have been home and I have enjoyed the lounging, and catch-up time. It is great to be able to spend an occasional lazy day together. I got caught up on my loves and hugs.

The godchild did grace us with his presence. He is so big now that he walked into the house, but no worries since I am still taller than him. He was very nice to me and gave me pets and attentions so I guess I will keep him around…for now.

We did have an outing this weekend and all went to the Verizon store since Mom had an issue with her phone. It wasn’t just a 3 hour tour, similar to Gilligan’s Island, but I was on my bestest behavior. They ended up giving us the HUM device so Dad won’t get lost when I distract him from driving.  The patient Verizon lady Nashoa and her friend Ozzy think maybe I should have a job there as the welcoming committee as everyone just oohed and awed over me – but of course!

Dad and I have been posting some videos lately about how he thinks he can “control” me by making me ride in the back seat of the car. Where’s the justice in it all? I should have permanent shotgun privileges…ALWAYS! I guess it is OK, as we have over 1,000 views on one and the other is climbing.

You know me shallow but sincere…

The weather in Santa Monica has been a breezy 65 degrees today but the sun is shining so I’m happy as a lark!

Until next time peeps!

Zade and Me

IMG_2799Halloween came and went and the count down towards Turkey day is on.

Today godchild Zade came over for his first official Trick or Treat outing. He is now walking or should I say running and I had to pull hard on the leash to keep up with him. He was very cute as he was trying to trade what he had for what a person was trying to give him.  I’m hoping his spirit of giving continues so I can have more treats.

Of course I wore my scary skeleton costume that glows in the dark and yes the people wanted pets and gave me the accolades that I so deserve.  I tried to get out of the dress up thing but Dad said if I wanted to go trick or treating with Zade I had to “participate.”

Mom has been working on her MI stuff. She is going to start doing webinars that will help people continue to learn and brush up on there Motivational Interviewing skills from their home. Great idea…learning about reflective listening all the while wearing your pajamas.

Dad has been busy with long days at work so I have had a chance to go to the club to visit my friends –better than sitting at home since my own company is sometimes boring. However, I can now report I am up to five and half hours by myself not in the crate. I hear them talk about how I am growing up and becoming a big dog.

The weather has been windy in the Santa Monica and the warm temps continue to be in the 80’s so hopefully we will actually have a fall and not just skip to winer.

Oh yeah the time change should be a fun adjustment for the parentals as I am up before the crack of dawn – I figured breakfast now starts at 5 am, right?

Perry Shares the Spotlight

perry zade bdayAs summer is in the end stretch, I continue to have adventures and amaze the parentals with my maturity. Don’t get too excited – I can still prank with the best of them – hence the name Punky!

This morning while Dad was photographing this year’s Thanksgiving card, (Rite-Aid doesn’t have anything on us LOL) Mom and I went on a walk and I can proudly report back I did not pull once. I went easy on her, but if it were Dad he would not be as lucky.

Mom called it a little summer miracle since I walked right next to her – I figured it was time to act respectable since after all – I do live in the People’s Republic of Santa Monica.

Over the last few weeks Dad and I have been hanging out more than usual in the backyard. Actually, to be more exact, he’s been working and I’ve been helping with getting into things and making a mess. I did have a few time-outs this week and all this for a party.

Since the parental units are Baby Zade’s godparents, which I guess makes them god-units, they are having his first birthday party in OUR backyard. Dad is all about milking this godfather thing all the while I am trying to deal with the idea of this party since the backyard is MY territory.

One redeeming fact is at least I was on the invitation. However, I don’ t know what is worse – Dad being obnoxious about the godfather thing or all this over a 1-year-old taking over my backyard. I guess I will do the neighborly thing and let others have a moment in the sun of narcissism.

The weather has been crazy hot, but nice evenings and mornings. We have been eating out side on the patio…yep the parental’s took that over now. I am starting to LEARN life is about sharing and respecting other’s boundaries.

On the sharing note…the Donald is still showing up with his HAIR People!

Peace out Punky

And the Oscar Goes To….Perry?

IMG_2368Dad finally returned from the cold land of Kansas City Missouri. I was excited to see him and instantly forgave him for abandoning me by counter suffering and snatching a full chicken off the counter. Told you payback can be fun.

The week went great and all of us here at Casa de Perry are happy and healthy. We are working on printing a batch of our book A Healthy Baker’s Dozen, which should be ready in a month. Mom continues to book speaking engagements in Motivational Interviewing all over the country and Dad is trying to keep me out of trouble or should I say I keep him out of trouble.

I thought things were getting close to perfect since we were having a workday at the house. Usually these are pretty cool and mellow, with Dad in the office and me lounging with a big bone.

BUT NOT this time!

The Zade baby came over which means I do not receive all of my loves and attentions, which I am entitled to. Plus didn’t Dad just go to Missouri for that baby? And Dad was holding that little thing way too much and I felt abandoned.

IMG_2505I had had enough and tried to challenge the little creature with a stare down as you can see. Finally after a few hours things went back to normal and the baby was put into his container thingy and left.

Of course once the godchild left I shared with Dad my frustration by taking a few pairs of his shoes outside. That will learn him.

As you can see I am just sitting here waiting for the Academy Awards to begin.

Well, it is once again the Oscars and even though Ellen is not hosting it, Doogie Howser, MD will be in the house.

OK, red carpet fans you will not see me out there on it as it is overcast, chilly and the temp in Santa Monica is only 64 degrees today. I know our east coast friends are more than jealous but remember I have absolutely no hair or body fat to keep me warm, so I’m entitled to a little complaining.

And the Oscar goes to…

Maybe Perry?
