Things have been sailing along great. I continue to impress the parental units and believe I have mastered the skill of manipulation. But hey, I am Perry the super dog who all love and find irresistible.
You all know I have an aficionado for toilet paper, but my new skill is to get a roll and not destroy it or run with it, but go right up to mom and drop it in front of her feet. I thought I was going to impress her and get a treat but that did not happen. I was trying to outsmart her and say “maybe I am ready for college?” But no luck. She told me no treats for stealing toilet paper regardless of bringing it and doing the “drop.” Oh well, maybe next time.
More importantly, since I write this healthy eating puppy blog I do know it is essential to include my daily regime of exercise, good food, nice people, rest and my vitamins. Can you believe this morning the parental units forgot my vitamins? I took it upon myself and I went into the kitchen and got the bottle right off the counter and what surprised them the most was that I opened the bottle. Those big paws come in handy at times!
Finally, I continue to try and be a good boy and daily we work on my service dog training skills. Today we went to the office to clean up after mom’s open house. I was fairly good since I like the space. I cannot wait to be able to go there more and see Mom’s patients. Maybe I can become the office butler? Wow knows, but you will be there first to know and I will make sure to tell the patients to exercise, eat healthy like me and take their vitamins!
This is NOT a flattering picture of me but my appetite has not been great so Mom thought it best to add the pumpkin back to my food. It did the trick and just in time for Halloween.
I don’t care much for the candy but the pumpkin gives me so many nutrients – vitamins A, C and the important phytochemicals alpha and beta carotene. I guess those are the ones the help me feel better. I’m almost done with my medicine and my throat is much better. I guess it’s not a good idea to eat all the stuff in the yard.
I see the suitcase out and Mom and is going to speak at that InnerIDEA conference about Diabetes and Food Terms. Dad has been gone a lot making sure the new office is just right for me. Great – another Batchelor weekend without Mom and no structure. I hope he remembers to give me my fish oil and vitamins since he can’t even remember to take his own. We need Mom around to keep us both healthy…
Today was a long day. Dad packed up the car with all my things – my 2 big boy beds, my crate, my elevated dish and water, a 20 pound bag of food, my treats and biscuits, toys, vitamins and fish oil. I am going away for 2 weeks and there’s a lot required to take care of me. I’m going to Grandma and Grandpa B’s since Mom and Dad are going to a conference whatever that is.
I’m supposed to be on my bestest behavior but we’ll have to see about that. My aunt Vickie lives there and she is a golden retriever and is an old lady so I’m hoping she will play with me. I’m going to miss Mom and Dad so much but they said they would come back and get me – I’m hoping that’s true since I was wearing Dad out today on the drive. I went to that town they call SLO before – lots of green grass and fresh air so hopefully I can have LOTS of play time and my lungs will be happy since I’ve been coughing from the smog – you would think I was a smoker but cigarettes were never interesting to me.
Since Mom will be away I’m not sure I will be able to type while she’s gone but check back and see if there is something to report – otherwise I’ll be back in a few weeks. I love all my fans….
Today Mom came home from her conference in Pasadena where she showed off her new book. Now don’t get me wrong I am all about being a bachelor with Dad, but it sure is nice to have her come back since someone has to give me my vitamins.
Mom was excited to see me and I enjoyed her talking to Dad about how good I was and what perfection I was at day care…Dad even told her about my new girl crush Lucy the Lab.
The best part was he did not tell her about me getting up on the table with on all fours and eating off the plates or when I got into the dog food bin and tanked up for about 10 minutes. Good thing because I could have gotten into big trouble.
I’m almost 45 pounds and Mom was reminiscing about when I was a cute little puppy at 10 pounds and could barely walk – thank goodness those days are long gone!
My Dad hates to take his vitamins and fish oil – Mom always reminds him and he gives her a look….but I LOVE my vitamins. After Mom gets home from the gym I wait and wait till she starts making her breakfast cause I know I’ll get them if I’m good.
I heard she tells her patients to get all their omega 3’s I think called ALA, DHA, and EPA but I don’t care. I just like to lick the lemon fish oil off the spoon and chew up the yummy vitamin. She made me pose with them both – Carlson lemon fish oil and NuVet Plus. I’m so sick of posing and who knows what she want to take a picture of next…..
