I Missed Graduation at Santa Monica College!

photoHello People!

This summer is shaping up to be fun and exciting. I love summer time because my internal clock keeps moving which means I am UP by 5AM wanting my food. Also, it means I can get a jump-start on the PITA, who continually torments me with his squeaking.

Dad took a video of my nemesis taunting me and put it on Facebook and everyone loves it. The best part is it is caught on tape so no one can deny he gets up in my face.

It has also been an exciting time as Dad FINALLY graduated. I was bummed out, as I did not get to go to the commencement. He tried to be nice and put his hat on my head to take a photo but I was not having anything to do with his decorated photography cap. That will teach him!  The great news is he can now spend more time with ME instead and take my pictures versus all those other non-canines he’s been hanging out with.

Also, I wanted to announce  I am starting to visit the office a little more and I am excited that maybe they will let me go there more and see my fans. However, when I am done with something I am ready to leave. I overheard them say I need to step up my training so I am a better behaved dog. I will get there but that patience thing is challenging.  I can only last a little more than an hour and then want to go on to the next errand of the day.

My medical issue is much better and I am feeling great. It is hard though at times as I want to eat anything and everything and I cannot have wheat or anything too fun.

However, the good news is I do live in the Dopart-Batchelor household so there is always fun food around – I just have to wait long enough in the kitchen for something to magically drop on the floor. Dad is trying his best to hook up my meal times and I am pretty satisfied.

I did get into a more than a LITTLE bit of trouble as I am mastering opening of the dog food container. Did you know if you do not screw the top tight you could just take your foot and paw at it until it opens? It totally awesome as then you have a buffet and can eat all you want – I had my own “Hometown Buffet” and it was awesome!  Dad was doing something else besides watching me so that will teach him!

And, of course the Weather Weimaraner reporting a REALLY warm day here in Santa Monica – I believe it got up to 80 degrees today so our plants were not so happy!

Love to ALL my fun fans!

It’s SMOKIN’ HOT in Santa Monica

photo-4This past week there has been record high temperatures in Santa Monica and I have just been a lounging dog in the middle of it all. We do not have what Dad calls AC in Casa de Perry so the car rides have been a refreshment from the heat.

One day Dad and I did have some fun and shot wedding pictures with Uncle Andrew and I got distracted with a marrow bone which we know is good for my skin, and health besides keeping me out of trouble.

Dad has NOT been playing enough with me – this school thing needs to be over NOW as I am not getting all the attention and affections I deserve. I heard he only has 4 more weeks till big graduation day so he can get his degree in photography, and we can all move on with our lives.

photo-3Mom was really happy this week as she had a cool Registered Dietitian intern Caitlin from Pepperdine to help with promoting our gluten-free cookie book which you remember I’m featured in.  In case you forgot it’s all about ME.

I want it to be June Gloom in Santa Monica soon so if you have some COLD in your part of the world please send me some. Everyone’s been talking about global warming and I have no idea what that is – all I know is I need some global cooling here.

Ok – the Weather Weimaraner has reported faithfully for the week. Till next week people!

The Country Does Me Good

photo-2So I had a fabulous time in the country – after all, I really am a country dog at heart although I live in the city. I got to RUN and RUN and RUN and it did my heart good, especially since the parentals were a bit tired after their trip. I’ll never get heart disease, although it is rampant in our country.

I made sure Mom gave me my fish oil this week since I had been missing it. I love the Carlson lemon flavor and love to lick it off the spoon. It gives my coat that great shine and ensures I’ll be free of Alzheimer’s disease, and lubricates my joints to help avoid hip dysplasia, which is common in my breed.

Dad is a bit cranky as he is has lots of papers and projects to finish in his last 4 weeks of school so he can graduate with his degree in photography to help with all our books.

Mom is crazy busy with her Motivational Interviewing trainings and had 2 this past week. I wonder whether her participants get treats like I do when I get trained?

I’ve been a bit disappointed as no new recipes to sample this week although Mom gave me a good portion of cheese while she was cutting up some for her afternoon snack.

We all missed the heat wave last week thank goodness and it is a crisp sunny 68 degrees in Santa Monica today. I have to admit we do have the best weather, although the drought here is getting serious. I think my relatives back east should share their water supply.

Peace till next week!

I’m the Star of Dad’s New Movie

Hey we know I am a Star, but boy it is hard work.

It is odd that Dad and I may be cruising down the street in the car and people are calling for me to turn so they can take my photo.  I thought driving and using your cell phone was illegal?

photoBut on to what’s really going on.  Dad has a school project and needs to make a short video using thousands of pictures.  It’s really a hard job, but as always I am up for the task.  However, this was a little more complicated than I initially realized.

First we picked up uncle Andrew and then headed out for the photo shoot. They really worked me.  I had to wait for food and treats.  They even made me get in the cage a few times with that camera thing clicking away in my face for close to 5 hours!  Dad said I was lucky that I did not have to edit and do all the post work too.  Who’s he kidding?  I will have to be on my best behavior while he is working on this project or else I will get the time outs.

Doesn’t he know I am union and should have Kraft services at my disposal?  Maybe this will be a good video for Mom’s promotional stuff.

On that better note the house has been full of great smells.  Mom has been baking up a storm for her new gluten-free cookie book.  It sounds pretty scientific but I don’t care since she has even made me some cookies.  And I LOVE them!  I wanted the chocolate ones but she said that was bad for me so I got the peanut butter pumpkin ones which were really quite yummy.

photo-1On our morning walk today we ran into a couple who informed Dad that their 12-year-old Weimaraner still cruised counter tops, acted like a puppy and ruled the house.  Rats, they took the element of surprise out of my plan.  Cuz I am the dog and rule the house.

Later today I went to visit my lady friend, Viva, who lives in the Palisades and boy is she a looker.  I irritated dad because he could not get a photo of us.  Since this is just a casual thing and not a prom I didn’t think it needed to be posted anywhere on the web.  I want to keep my options open.

OK, I am wiped out by these Memorial Day weekend events.  The parental units work tomorrow so I guess I will be having a holiday all by myself.

Peace out Peeps!
