The Year of Traveling

TreeHuggerHello Beautiful People!

Incredible that Trump and his hair thus far are unstoppable. He must be using Aqua-net or like we called it back in the 80’s “Aqua-Rock.” The Bern is an annoying bee to the Hillary and thank goodness I don’t have to choose a bathroom and can just go outside.

I went away to my camp for a few days and when I came back all this media news was a lot to process. I am glad I am not alone and have Mom and Dad to help buffer me from this Worldly Circus we live in. Speaking of Worlds, Mom went to the World Obesity Conference in Canada. I don’t need that type of conference as my metabolism runs like a champ but I realize there are many types of metabolisms and that is why they need Mom to help them.

goatpictureDad became a tree hugger and hugged an 800-year-old tree that is taller than the tower of Pisa. They didn’t even bring me back a t-shirt, but Dad got one from this cool natural foods store called Goats on the Roof.  Fortunately, the goats were on hiatus from the roof the day they went and maybe they went to their own camp. One solitary one was left. Hopefully next time I will get to go and play with the goats.

IMG_4605The parentals went with their good friends Roxanne and George who they visited after the conference.  Roxanne teaches those Motivational Interviewing trainings to humans in Canada.  Remember us canines don’t need motivation, but I still am bummed I did not get to visit them as I heard they like dogs.

The parentals are participating in #TheYearofTraveling – and you should check them out on Facebook and learn about their adventures. If you are not friends with them on FB reach out and if you are not a FB or Instagram user then your can get all the important information from my blog of course.

June gloom is in full force even though we are only in May. It was a breezy 65 degrees in Santa Monica today.

Love,

Perry

I was Left OUT!

FullSizeRenderHello People…

This weekend has been both exciting and a little frustrating.

First I met this really nice lady when Dad and I walked to pick up Mom from yoga. She is friends with William Wegman and was very excited to see me. I loved how she gave me ear rubs and the attention I so deserve.  She invited the parentals to one of his openings in a few weeks – I wonder if I’m going to get to go to that -after all, it’s all about Weims.  Mom has to go to yoga to get in her downward dogs but I don’t need a class since I do that pose everyday, and usually the first thing after getting up.  Another reason we are superior to humans!

Now about that attention I deserve…well the parental’s didn’t display this when they decided to take a little road trip to a new store, Protein for Pets, and brought home SAMPLES. What? How on earth could they venture to a place and not take me. A dog approved spot in town (well everywhere in LA seems to be dog approved so that’s not saying much) with food.

IMG_3231They did bring back a few things for me to try out which I guess was nice but I was not having it and hid from them. As you can see I went to my favorite spot, which makes Dad crazy. I crawl under the bed, but cannot get out since it’s such a small space.  When I am finally ready to come out I just lay on my side and stretch my legs out and they have to pull me out. It is brilliant and fun for me.

Even with my own PITA behavior they were loving, kind and gave me a treat, but only ONE.  I can’t understand why I can’t be like humans and eat the whole bag but maybe that’s a good thing since overeating is not good for Weims – we do have that “bloat” problem which can be quite serious.  These treats are called Nature’s Variety Instinct Raw duck medallions, which I LOVED.  Apparently they are good for “cooling” and my system needs that according to the vet.

Well the weather was nice at a warm 70 degrees with a little breeze for our walk today.

Until next time,

Perry

Zade and Me

IMG_2799Halloween came and went and the count down towards Turkey day is on.

Today godchild Zade came over for his first official Trick or Treat outing. He is now walking or should I say running and I had to pull hard on the leash to keep up with him. He was very cute as he was trying to trade what he had for what a person was trying to give him.  I’m hoping his spirit of giving continues so I can have more treats.

Of course I wore my scary skeleton costume that glows in the dark and yes the people wanted pets and gave me the accolades that I so deserve.  I tried to get out of the dress up thing but Dad said if I wanted to go trick or treating with Zade I had to “participate.”

Mom has been working on her MI stuff. She is going to start doing webinars that will help people continue to learn and brush up on there Motivational Interviewing skills from their home. Great idea…learning about reflective listening all the while wearing your pajamas.

Dad has been busy with long days at work so I have had a chance to go to the club to visit my friends –better than sitting at home since my own company is sometimes boring. However, I can now report I am up to five and half hours by myself not in the crate. I hear them talk about how I am growing up and becoming a big dog.

The weather has been windy in the Santa Monica and the warm temps continue to be in the 80’s so hopefully we will actually have a fall and not just skip to winer.

Oh yeah the time change should be a fun adjustment for the parentals as I am up before the crack of dawn – I figured breakfast now starts at 5 am, right?
