June Gloom, Fireworks and Earthquakes

It’s June gloom in Santa Monica, I’m still headache hungover from the July 4th cacophony of noise and to top it off I’m queasy due to 2 earthquakes we had in the last 24 hours. Dad put my Thundershirt on me which helped a smidge. I’m sorry I’ve been MIA for a while. Mom has been crazy busy with trainings, patients and book writing and Dad has been taking some classes – hence less overall time with ME.

I’m not saying I’m that neglected but since it should be about ME all the time this has been a bit disconcerting.  To top it off I’ve developed a sore on my leg and I might have to go to the vet next week.  So things are pretty status quo around here unless you think earthquakes are exciting. Last might it was 7.1 and the house shook a LOT. We are thankful nothing happened or was broken. Dad has been praying.

Besides that all is well in the Dopart-Batchelor household.  We will try to write more often and hope all of you are having a nonevent summer – safer that way.

Much Love,

Perry

I’m a Gluten-Free Dog

Hello Campers….

photoThe Punky is back from the land of sick and trying to get back to my normal self. As most of you know I was out of commission and it was a pretty itching situation. I had to go to the vet, take medicine and have socks on my feet. Not fun at all since I like being active and on the go.  It put MORE than a cramp in my Punky Style!

I overhead Dad say he was worried about my labored breathing and thank goodness we got to the vet in time so I could get a shot to make it all stop. Unfortunately I have some scares on my undercoat but I better stop now before I start sounding like a complaining old man dog.

Mom ordered some probiotics to help with my immune system so hopefully I will be back in full swing soon.

I finally got out and this morning Dad took me on my morning walk to see all the weekend people out there. I got to go to my first garage sale and I believe I was more treasured then the antiques.

Yep – that’s right folks I am a looker and there is always a few people who stop and ask the who, what and how gorgeous I am. One little boy even asked if I was for sale.

Thank goodness I have been on my best behavior and Dad didn’t sell me. And who am I kidding anyway?   Those parentals would be lost without me!

OK, it is almost dinnertime I am on a new hypoallergenic food with my raw turkey and broccoli. It has a fancy named and is called Royal Canine Veterinary Diet Selected Protein Adult PD. Dad says we have to try it out to see if that will also help my skin problems. So this dog is going completely wheat and gluten free.

AND I almost forgot – we had a duck visitor in the front yard this afternoon and I went CRAZY since Dad was out there taking pictures and being nice to another creature besides me – can you imagine?  Hasn’t he read that I have duck in my new dog food – he better be careful or else!

June gloom seems to be on hold right now as it was a sunny 73 degrees in Santa Monica today – the Weather Weimariner is back!

I’ve Been Under The Weather

Can you believe that?  The Weather Weimaraner is under the weather.  I’ve been out of commission folks.  I’ve been excessively licking since my skin was SO itchy.  I even licked my feet till they bled and now I have scabs and so I cannot be photographed at present.  I had to wear little socks that were NOT flattering.

Apparently I have this SENSITIVE system and ate a treat at daycare that did not agree with me.  I broke out into welts all over within a few hours and had to go to the vet and get a BIG shot and lots of medicine.  It’s getting a little better but the parentals had to switch my food to some hypoallergenic one – as long as it’s tasty and does not have carrots I don’t mind.

I’ll eat anything but carrots which Mom says does not make sense.  It’s just one of those odd things about me that makes me stand out from other dogs.

So no weather report today – I’ll catch up with you all next week!

Love The Sensitive Weimariner
