Perry Goes Political

FullSizeRenderHello Campers and Political junkies!

This week has been an interesting one charged with many political sightings and hot topics. Since my agent, Aunt Deb Main, suggested I branch out with my insight on this planet here it goes…

As the 2016 Presidential campaign trail heats up in the U.S. its face is changing for sure. I foresee a continual train wreck in the upcoming future in which all of us are going to be subject to a political hot mess in the media with biased opinions and screams for campaign reform.

Democrat front-runner or should we say only runner, Hillary Clinton, was spotted in a Monica Lewinsky blue pant suit hitting the trail. Jeb Bush apparently needs some schooling on how to read a teleprompter and good ole Trump showed up along with his hair to join a soccer size team to toss around nauseating rhetoric.  As a good reporter I’m unbiased and still the undecided voter but apparently it will be a while anyway.  I will be much older in dog years before the election so I’m not worried yet…

Sit tight electoral it is definitely going to be a bumpy ride.

SCOTUS decided that ACA was law, which means POTUS was pleased and I am still confused by all these acronyms. All I know is I am glad I have my insurance through VPI, aka Veterinary Pet Insurance

But the Supreme Court was busy last week as it appears to be the only branch of government working (congress is always out to lunch and the senate just seems to ramble on) Hmm…maybe they should have to have some ACA with their TPP deal.

Anyways, everyone now can get married, which means we made the White house a colorful flag while we took down a confederate flag.

I still cannot get married…so what’s up with that?

Young children are now getting into trouble as they start to sell sugar and salt because their school lunches are too bland. I guess capitalism still reigns somewhere in this country.

Finally, a beautiful side note…after the horrendous killing of the bible study class in South Carolina, some family members were able to express their forgiveness for the shooter’s heinous crimes. Maybe there is still hope in this topsy-turvy country we call home!

OK, that is all on the Perry Political front. Oh yeah the weather in Santa Monica was a breezy 73 degrees today so all is well in our land, or at least for now.

Peace out Perry!

Another Dog Day

IMG_2176What a crazy weekend and it was all the Parental’s fault! You know sometimes they really get on my last nerve.

I have been trying to do my best. Yes, I am STILL a puller on the walks, and the squirrels get me all fired up and finally it is always about me and ALWAYS WILL BE PEOPLE!

I knew something was up when Dad started his craziness around the house earlier this week. I love it because it sort of misted which caused a sufficient amount of wet dirt and he was cleaning the floors.

He becomes insane when I start running in the house like a 4-wheel drive canine making sure I hit all the corners and baseboards with my muddy feet especially after he cleans them. He has become so used to my power of turning up the rugs he now just leaves them that way until Mom gets home. It is cool because subconsciously I am turning the house into my huge dog den most days.

Then on Thursday he started cooking and this calmed me down. I was poised in the kitchen as the sous chef waiting patiently for the treats he so lovingly hands out.

After about 5 hours of cooking he rested and Mom came home. They were talking about the recipe tasting with her interns from Pepperdine University and I was excited because that meant people and extra love, hugs and pets.

IMG_2190But oh no! They had the audacity to mention Tutu and even asked me if I wanted my lady friend to come over for a visit. I promptly gave the stink eye look and they knew I was not pleased.

Well of course like all parentals they did not respect my wishes and allowed that heavy breathing Darth Vader of a bulldog on my turf.

She sauntered in with a swagger and didn’t even say hello. Next thing they wanted to have us take pictures together.

NOT! We are not taking prom photos here people. Then she became obsessed with Dad as he was giving her attention. He did try to give us both affection but the Tutu would put her bossy body in the way and block me from Dad. Well I wasn’t having any of that and when she got too close to me I growled at her. That will learn her I thought.

Of course I got into trouble for not loving my neighbor routine. Oh well at least I put her in her place and she pretty much avoided me the rest of the night.

IMG_2195Don’t get too excited since she got her payback. During dinner I had to have a timeout as I felt I needed to be involved at the table putting my nose on it next to people out of Mom and Dad’s reach. As you can imagine they both were not well with this “inappropriate” behavior and I was banished to the crate.

Then all of a sudden I heard Dad yell at the Tutu. What! He lost his cookies and I was not there to see.

You see the mean girl took my favorite nooking blanket (my sucky) and shredded it under the dinning room table.

She is off the Christmas card list for sure!

The saving grace of the evening was Mom’s 3 beautiful interns Farah, Antonella and Nora who all helped out in the office – I did get my share of hugs, loves and pets.  However, I was beyond tired when they all left as you can see me sprawled out on my favorite chair!

Perry – Zero the Tutu 1 game on!

It has been humid here in Santa Monica, and June Gloom is definitely in full spring.

I’m A Sensitive Dog

IMG_2699Hello All,

We are in the thick of the gray fog, cool mornings and sun in the afternoon. We call it “June Gloom” and it can be more than a little melancholy. For most of the country it is the start of summer but here in LA it feels like the end as the drought is taking its toll and we are living in the land of brown.

I have been doing much better. I am starting to be left by myself out of the crate for up to 6 hours now.  Do you hear that people!

Of course this is not all the time but I can tell Dad is trusting me more and I love it. I get to lounge and have been good (knock on wood) with not wanting to destroy things or the house. Apparently the parental units did a fairly good job with my training. And if I need time in my crate the door is open and I just hang out in there of my own free will.

However, we all know how sensitive my skin is and again I have been having some skin problems. Last week while I was away I came back with a quarter size bump on my chin. Mom has been hooking me up with some essential oil application and it seems to help. Unfortunately it’s the oregano oil, so I smell like pizza but it does seem to be helping my owie.

I did hear the parentals are leaving again to BACK to Visalia and I will go to my camp and I am excited about that.

Life is mellowing out. I am almost 3.5 years and finally starting to settle down. But don’t let that fool any of you. I am still a crazy Weimaraner who can run and cause havoc with the best of them.  I just know how to calm myself down when I need to which I why I have my blanket in sight at all times as you can see.

Peace People,

Perry
