My Unconventional Snacks

If you want to know what I’ve been doing lately,  just take a look at the pile Dad is collecting of the things I sneak into the house.  I have actually picked up each and every one of these items and brought them into the house in the last week.  I’m not very happy with Dad right now since he’s put MY stuff out of reach on top of the water heater outside.  However, I found a new thing to do and it’s even more fun to watch my parental units go crazy when I can reach up and take things off the kitchen counter.

The ultimate fun I had was when Dad caught me standing on top of the patio table.  It was awesome because I got an ink pen and chewed that up inside getting blue ink on some house things.

However, they are still trying to make me a show dog.  Here’s the latest – my entry in eating Mountain High Yogurt (see page 6) my FAVORITE food of all time.  I love my morning yogurt.  Mom thinks it’s odd that I like the same breakfast food she eats but the apple does not fall far from the tree…

Play date and Training with Brinkley and Rita

It was a big day today.  Yesterday I was naughty and getting into everything or as Mom calls it I had a “witching” day.  Today I was being pretty good but Mom decided to take me over to Auntie Patsy’s house for some training and play time.

Rita and Brinkley are older than me and are role models for how to be good in this thing they call life.

Brinkley was trying to teach me not to bite and I finally gave in and let him be the leader.

When we got home Dad tried to work with getting me to “come” with lead training  (as you can see he’s not very capable of controlling the training because I thought it was fun getting all tangled up.)  What is it with all this training?  Why can’t they just let me bite, and come when I want to?

So many rules around this Dopart-Batchelor household.  Dad says he’s trying to get me in good shape before I need to travel to Grandma and Grandpa Batchelor’s house so I can be on my bestest behavior and come back for multiple visits.

Perry and Frank

Mom and Dad are really tired so Dad called his photography friend JD to bring over Frank so I could get some of my energy out.  Although Frank is little he is REALLY fast and I loved chasing him around our yard.

Frank was a little shy at first since I’m bigger but he found out everyone is my friend.  I hope his Daddy JD brings him back soon since I loved playing with him.

I wish I could have a play date EVERY day so if you live close to me and have a dog I know it would make my Mom and Dad REALLY happy!

Time for My Probiotics

Mom eats plain yogurt every morning and I got curious about it.  She told me there were good bugs in it called bacteria for her stomach so I decided I wanted some too.  Since I kept begging for it she finally put some in a bowl and gave it to me and I could NOT stop eating it.

I really like cottage cheese but yogurt is my favorite now.  My tummy was very happy today.

Mom says I’m getting so big and she misses the puppy since I now look like a dog but isn’t that what I’m supposed to be?  Maybe I can’t be Perry puppy anymore.  I’m only 15 1/2 weeks old and growing so fast everyone can hardly believe I’m the same puppy I was a few weeks ago.

My New Paul Newman’s Scooby Snacks Came

It was a dog day.  Dad took me to the vet to get my almost last set of shots.  Everyone at the vet loves me, especially my cute vet Annie.  I’ll do anything for her.  She took care of Mom’s kitty George for many years so she’s happy to take care of me too!  I tried to get this cute girl to play with me and she just kept ignoring me so I pounced on her and then she ran away – not sure why since I just wanted to be her friend.

I was feeling tired tonight from my shot and the nice people at Paul Newman’s must have known since they sent me this COOL box of treats!  Boy did I score.  I don’t know how they knew but they sent my ABSOLUTE favorites – the peanut butter treats, the Chicken and Rice Snack Sticks (sooo yummy) and some new Organic Dog Food to try.  As a special treat they sent some Chicken and Brown Rice Food.  Mom’s happy about that since she thinks their food is the best…besides the nice ladies Sally and Peggy who work there.  I wanted to eat it all tonight but she only let me have a little and said I have to save some for tomorrow…

I’m A Miniature Horse with a HUGE Appetite

I’m sitting here with one of my favorite toys – my rope – that Auntie Amy gave me for Easter.  I may look sweet and innocent but that is FAR from the truth.

This morning Dad gave me a big breakfast and then took me out for a long walk which I LOVE.  Mom played with me a little and then was trying to get some work done (she works too much at that machine of hers -can’t imagine what she does for that long).

It wasn’t even noon but I was getting REALLY hungry – so I ran outside and took a plant out of the yard.  I thought it was okay since Mom told me I needed to get my green veggies but from the look on her face I think this was not the right kind.  Dad says I need to tell him when I’m hungry but I”m not sure how to do that yet – I’m only a puppy!

Mom says she misses the days when she could pick me up – I weighed in at 35 pounds yesterday so she says I look like a little horse.

Hard week at home with parents and housework

I am sad I’ve been off the radar this week.  Mom was so busy finishing up her baby book that she could not blog for me – can’t believe she spent so much time on that little thing – after all, I’M the BABY of the family and she should be paying attention to ME!!!

Dad was cleaning a lot this week since the house was dusty and I decided he finally needed some help as well.  After all that hard work I decided to take a nap with my toys and of course Mom interrupted me with her picture-taking again – seems like I have to train these parents of mine as to MY needs – alright already!

Perry’s Paul Newman’s Peanut Butter Treats are the BEST

I love Paul Newman’s Peanut Butter Treats – in fact I love them SO much I am calling them PPPT’s – Perry’s Paul Newman’s Peanut Butter Treats.  Mom keeps them on the top counter and I’ve been jumping up to try to snag them and this morning I SCORED!  I ran with them to my comfy bed and tried to eat as many as I could before THEY caught me.

Mom interrupted me and Dad was trying to take a picture – they are so annoying sometimes – why can’t I just enjoy my treats in peace?!  Parents!

I should be able to eat as many as I want since I overheard Mom saying they have great clean ingredients which are important for me since I’m a growing puppy.  Hopefully I can have more tomorrow – I guess I might have to behave since that is the only time I get treats…but I’m growing so I might reach the top of the counter soon without having to jump so watch out….

Perry Pumpky-Face Goes to Work

My Dad calls my “pumpky-face” since I LOVE the pumpkin he mixes in my food.  It keeps me regular and then I have normal digestion which seems important to my Mom – can’t imagine why.  I’ve doubled in size since I came to my new house – I was only 10 pounds and tonight Mom made me get on the scale and I was 19 pounds!  She told me she was not doing her job so well if I keep gaining weight – again I have no idea what that’s all about.

I went to work with Dad today in the high-rise.  I chewed up one of his client’s contracts so he was not too happy with me – he forgot that paper is one of my favorites.  AND can you believe that building?  I had to be carried in because no four legged creatures are allowed in public spaces.  So I taught them – I shared some yellow fluid at the valet station.

After a long day in the office and what seemed like forever in the car, I finally got dinner and then I decided Mom and Dad were a little too lethargic and needed to be riled up.   I sprawled up between Mom and Dad and here I am sacked out.  That annoying camera flash is interfering with my zzzz’s…

Not all that Innocent

Don’t let the sweet innocent look fool you.  I was a terror today, at least according to Mommy.  Both Mom and Dad had to work today and I was not happy about it.  They played with me this morning and Dad worked with me on that silly clicker training but then I heard them saying they had to get their teeth cleaned.  Mom tried to fool me into cleaning mine with peanut butter toothpaste before they left.  I bit the brush and she had a hard time getting it out of my mouth – why do they need to go somewhere special?

Then Mom came home and tried to play with me and I just wanted to bite.  At least she gave me lunch but then she put me in my cage and went to work and left me the longest I’ve ever been left – 4 hours.  I was good and did not even have an accident in my crate BUT I decided to relentlessly pay her back for leaving me.  She tried to make it up to me by taking me on a walk but I really wasn’t all that interested – I just wanted to bite.  I can’t understand why they don’t want me to bite their hands?  It’s so much more interesting than the toys I have…
