The Race for Payback is in FULL Force

Mom got up early like she normally does and went to the gym.  I’m not allowed to sleep on their bed – ONLY on my big boy bed.

However, this morning Dad was sleeping very soundly so after Mom left I carefully got on the bed as to not disturb him.  He was smiling thinking Mom had stayed home and was snuggling with him.  You see I was really smart and laid with my back pressed to him.  It seemed like I got to lay there forever and then Dad reached over to put his hand on Mom and realized it was me.  Boy that voice was louder than any alarm clock!  But I did not give up without a proper fight.  I just became dead weight and leaned into him.  I thought I had pinned him down as he was yelling all the time trying to get out from under me.

I nearly claimed gold but at last he won and got me off.  I guess it was good while it lasted.  Maybe that will teach Dad to go the gym with Mom – he’s always complaining he needs to get in better shape anyway.

I’m ALMOST There

I have one more day to freedom.  My scar is healing nicely and I am driving Mom and Dad NUTS with having to lay low and be “contained” by the apparatus. Dad had to put band-aids on the controller mask since I got a little sore from wearing it.

When Dad took off the mask tonight for dinner I was a good boy and ate my little crowns which Mom calls broccoli.

After dinner I decided to bug them as much as possible and pounce on them while they are eating to get more attention.  However, I  get the most attention when I saunter by them and body slam myself to the floor.  Mom says I’ the drama King.  However, while she was writing the blog for me I put my head in her lap since I love it when she rubs my head and ears – that’s the best.  I know when to behave – it’s just whether I choose to do it.

This is What Happens when the Silence of the Lamb Mask Comes off

So I’ve had the contraption on most of the day.  Dad decided he was feeling sorry for me so he took it off.  I was busily chewing on my bone and while Dad was taking time to talk to Mom I snuck to the back of the house and found the bathroom door left open – I was SOOO happy – my favorite fiber was left unattended.  I was let out of jail – and we know that payback’s a …..

So then Dad puts the contraption back on my face so as he was trying to fall asleep I decided to body slam him to the mattress.  As he was screaming for Mom to help she said “see I told you he knows the difference between his bed and our bed.”   She’s smarter than us boys.

Woe is ME!

I am not happy.  I’ve tried to put up with all these contraptions and make everyone feel sorry for me and it is just not working.  I believe I have 5 more days of having this THING on my face.  I’m halfway through it but it’s not helping me in any way.

Dad felt sorry for me while he was making his lunch today so he took it off for a few minutes – I took my chance and pulled his whole sandwich off the table – tuna/avocado and all – so I had to go back to the constraints.  I overheard them talking last night about how much calmer I am with the contraption ON and perhaps they should incorporate it regularly in the house.  Really….could that be happening…is this some sort of nightmare?

When I got up this morning I tried to give Dad some extra LEAN-IN’s but Mom said that was not a good idea since I might get used to being in their bed.  Dad said Perry is smart enough – he knows the difference between his bed and our bed.  Mom said – yes, he knows the difference and there lies the problem so here I am in the corner giving myself a time out.

First they Take My Manhood and Now This

Well I found it kind of odd that Dad started covering all the wood furniture in the house.  Apparently my plastic collar is hurting the house so Dad was grumbling about spending his retirement to get me more stuff at the store.

I am not happy with this setup either.  I can’t chew bricks, take shoes outside and I am REALLY upset that the toilet paper is out of my reach.  They are taking ALL my fun away!  I feel like I should put this on HIS face.

I look like a stupid football linebacker.  Tomorrow I’ll probably have kneepads.  I’ll keep you posted but this surgery thing has really put a wrench in my healthy lifestyle.

I am OUT of Control

Mom and Dad are not so happy with me tonight.  I overheard them saying they can’t wait till I get clipped this Tuesday – not sure what that means but hopefully it’s good.

I am very tall now so nothing is out of my reach.  I even got the bananas tonight which were WAY up on the counter – Dad was not so happy since he eats one a day.

Dad was carefully putting in receipts from the trip today and he had a phone call so I decided to take the opportunity to mess up all his work – he was really mad and called Mom.  His patience is wearing so he had Mom deal with me tonight.  I figured I’d better obey so when I stole the TV remote for the 5th time she told me to drop it and I did.  There are WAY too many rules around here.  I should have the run of the house and I’m big enough now to have it – I just have to get Mom and Dad on board.

I’m such a Healthy Eater

Okay – I have to admit that I eat things I’m not supposed to like dirt, rocks, Dad’s ear plugs, my leash and collar but hey – if they are around so I’m not sure what the big deal is anyway?  Aren’t we a family and share stuff?

But I thought I would make a list of my favorite foods since Mom is proud that I have such a healthy pallette:

1. Vitamins and Fish oil – I know technically not “food” but I live for the morning when Mom gives me these 2 things.
2. Plain Yogurt – Mom did not think I would like this but whenever she eats it I can’t stop myself from begging for some too – so smooth and satisfying besides the probiotics!
3. Peanut butter – I overheard Mom saying this is her favorite food and she used to put some in my Kong to keep me happy but I can’t remember where I hid my Kong so occasionally she gives it to me on a spoon.
4. Bully Sticks – this is one Mom saves for when she really needs me to be good for a few hours – like when she’s writing all her blogs. I can chew, chew, chew for hours with so much taste – it’s amazing!
5. Green Beans and Peas – this is one my Grandpa B introduced me to. I really love all fruits and veggies (except carrots – can’t stand those although Mom has tried a few times to pull one over on me) but these are 2 of my favorites.

I could eat most anything but if any of you are stopping by please bring me a treat – I have such a great nose I’ll never forget it. I can’t send thank-you’s but I’ll lick your hand and try to get in your lap 🙂

I’m BACK and I’m HUGE

Mom and Dad were in for a BIG surprise. I’m growing like a weed and am now 58 pounds although I really look bigger than that. I look like an adult but I’m still Puppy Perry and I love to play.

I had a great time at Grandma and Grandpa B’s house and got Victoria to really like me. I did not get that good of report card since Grandma and Grandpa trusted me too much and I was naughty and destroyed a rug or two. I’m not sure I’ll be welcome back too soon. Dad says he’s going to up the training – we’ll see how that one goes.

For now I’m home and resting from the long car trip. Mom keeps looking at me like I’m some sort of Alien – I guess she still can’t believe I’m this big but I am and I’m going to get BIGGER 🙂

Dad got a measurement thingy out and measured me when I was all stretched out – I was 64 inches – so I AM taller than Mom – I don’t think she’s too happy about that….

I’m Having SO much fun

Dad left me at Grandma and Grandpa’s this morning and went home without me – not sure if he was mad or just needs a break.  I’m hoping he just needs a break since I do like living in Santa Monica.

After he left I helped Grandma make the beds – I’m not sure she liked it since I could not help myself and chewed on her blankets.  I then went to the laundry room and found my second FAVORITE thing in the world – a big roll of toilet paper called paper towels.  Boy – I was in heaven!  Grandma was finishing up the bed so I pulled it off the washer and shredded it all over the kitchen and family room.  When Grandma came out of the bedroom, somehow it did not faze her and she just handed me a chew toy and quietly picked up the paper towels.

Now I’m outside helping Grandpa clean off the patio.  My Aunt Vickie seems to be warming up to me and maybe she’ll play with me tomorrow.  I’m here 2 weeks so I have lots of time to get her on my good side….

I’m off to Summer Vacation at Grandma and Grandpa B’s

Today was a long day.  Dad packed up the car with all my things – my  2 big boy beds, my crate, my elevated dish and water, a 20 pound bag of food, my treats and biscuits, toys, vitamins and fish oil.  I am going away for 2 weeks and there’s a lot required to take care of me.  I’m going to Grandma and Grandpa B’s since Mom and Dad are going to a conference whatever that is.

I’m supposed to be on my bestest behavior but we’ll have to see about that.  My aunt Vickie lives there and she is a golden retriever and is an old lady so I’m hoping she will play with me.  I’m going to miss Mom and Dad so much but they said they would come back and get me – I’m hoping that’s true since I was wearing Dad out today on the drive.  I went to that town they call SLO before – lots of green grass and fresh air so hopefully I can have LOTS of play time and my lungs will be happy since I’ve been coughing from the smog – you would think I was a smoker but cigarettes were never interesting to me.

Since Mom will be away I’m not sure I will be able to type while she’s gone but check back and see if there is something to report – otherwise I’ll be back in a few weeks.  I love all my fans….
