I Love the Mazes and Hear there’s a Rumor….

Things have changed in our house.  Apparently Mom and Dad wanted to fix some stuff but it’s all good to me.  I’ve been getting through the barriers and running all around in circles looking for new and interesting things.

There’s no doors on anything so I’m FREE to go wherever I want – it’s like heaven!  I do love feeling like I am part of the family and eating breakfast at the table but I’m starting to realize that is not an option based on reactions by Mom and Dad.

Dad was watering the lawn and plants yesterday and I LOVE running in the water and playing with the hose.  Needless to say we were both very dirty.  Dad decided to put me immediately in the tub.  I love it when I get a “shampoo and set.”

After all being all clean and content I overheard them talk about making a list of the items they wanted me to be able to DO.  Who on earth makes a checklist about that at 8 months old?  Then Dad said something about being there at 10 am on Thursday.  Another long car ride?  Ugh – I can wait to see what this one’s about…

I’m now a Botanist

It’s been a long hot day and potting outside was just not an option.  Mom and Dad were trying to relax and I was just not going to allow that to happen.

I thought they needed to help me accomplish one more task today so I ran outside and brought a pot in.  After all, they went to French class today and are trying to speak French to me so I have to offer some diversion.  I just hope I’m not too late since learning languages is not my forte.

I thought I needed a New Bed

Dad was washing the bed cover and the inside looked so fun and yummy so I decided to have some fun.  Dad was not all that happy but Mom snapped a picture and so here I am. I’m hoping for a newer version of this bed – after all, I am the perpetual money pit.

Dad has been sick the last few days and I’m trying so hard to be good and quiet but I just can’t seem to help myself.  Mom says I have a “witching” hours between 6-8 and all my pent-up frustration from the day comes out.  I guess I’m just like humans, right?  They come home from work and eat their frustrations.  I guess that’s why Mom has a job to help them all – I’ve picked up a thing or two since I’ve lived here for almost 6 months.  Time has flown for me but not sure about that for Mom and Dad….

I’m Finally out of Jail and I Almost got a sister

So the mask came off yesterday but I was a little too excited with my freedom.  I immediately ran in the back yard and decided to eat rocks again.  Dad was not too thrilled and put my mask on for a period of time today which seemed like forever.

Mom had to go to get me some treats at the dog store and saw a little 12 week old black and white kitty who needed adopting and was VERY tempted to bring her home.  Dad thought I might hurt her – WHEW  – that was a close one.  I want the house and my parents ALL to myself since I am the epitome of narcissism.  I want all the attention on me and when I am not getting it I go find something I’m not supposed to, steal it, and run in the back yard.

Mom and Dad are a little sick of this behavior and may step up the “training” as they call it.

I was a little excited about getting a sister – just think about all the “almond roca”  at my disposal from the cat box – maybe I should consider sharing after all….

I’m ALMOST There

I have one more day to freedom.  My scar is healing nicely and I am driving Mom and Dad NUTS with having to lay low and be “contained” by the apparatus. Dad had to put band-aids on the controller mask since I got a little sore from wearing it.

When Dad took off the mask tonight for dinner I was a good boy and ate my little crowns which Mom calls broccoli.

After dinner I decided to bug them as much as possible and pounce on them while they are eating to get more attention.  However, I  get the most attention when I saunter by them and body slam myself to the floor.  Mom says I’ the drama King.  However, while she was writing the blog for me I put my head in her lap since I love it when she rubs my head and ears – that’s the best.  I know when to behave – it’s just whether I choose to do it.

This is What Happens when the Silence of the Lamb Mask Comes off

So I’ve had the contraption on most of the day.  Dad decided he was feeling sorry for me so he took it off.  I was busily chewing on my bone and while Dad was taking time to talk to Mom I snuck to the back of the house and found the bathroom door left open – I was SOOO happy – my favorite fiber was left unattended.  I was let out of jail – and we know that payback’s a …..

So then Dad puts the contraption back on my face so as he was trying to fall asleep I decided to body slam him to the mattress.  As he was screaming for Mom to help she said “see I told you he knows the difference between his bed and our bed.”   She’s smarter than us boys.

I am OUT of Control

Mom and Dad are not so happy with me tonight.  I overheard them saying they can’t wait till I get clipped this Tuesday – not sure what that means but hopefully it’s good.

I am very tall now so nothing is out of my reach.  I even got the bananas tonight which were WAY up on the counter – Dad was not so happy since he eats one a day.

Dad was carefully putting in receipts from the trip today and he had a phone call so I decided to take the opportunity to mess up all his work – he was really mad and called Mom.  His patience is wearing so he had Mom deal with me tonight.  I figured I’d better obey so when I stole the TV remote for the 5th time she told me to drop it and I did.  There are WAY too many rules around here.  I should have the run of the house and I’m big enough now to have it – I just have to get Mom and Dad on board.

I’m off to Summer Vacation at Grandma and Grandpa B’s

Today was a long day.  Dad packed up the car with all my things – my  2 big boy beds, my crate, my elevated dish and water, a 20 pound bag of food, my treats and biscuits, toys, vitamins and fish oil.  I am going away for 2 weeks and there’s a lot required to take care of me.  I’m going to Grandma and Grandpa B’s since Mom and Dad are going to a conference whatever that is.

I’m supposed to be on my bestest behavior but we’ll have to see about that.  My aunt Vickie lives there and she is a golden retriever and is an old lady so I’m hoping she will play with me.  I’m going to miss Mom and Dad so much but they said they would come back and get me – I’m hoping that’s true since I was wearing Dad out today on the drive.  I went to that town they call SLO before – lots of green grass and fresh air so hopefully I can have LOTS of play time and my lungs will be happy since I’ve been coughing from the smog – you would think I was a smoker but cigarettes were never interesting to me.

Since Mom will be away I’m not sure I will be able to type while she’s gone but check back and see if there is something to report – otherwise I’ll be back in a few weeks.  I love all my fans….

I Make Sure to say my Prayers

Even though I’m a big boy I still say my prayers each day to not get in trouble AGAIN, make sure I don’t have to go to the hospital to have surgery for all those things I eat in the yard, and get my treats…Mom and Dad use those sparingly.

I heard Mom and Dad saying Grandpa B is going to try to break me of my toilet paper theft problem.  Little does he know he’s going to have to watch a lot of bathrooms since toilet paper is my addiction!  I definitely don’t want to be in the dog house on vacation so I’m saying some extra prayers for that!

Toilet Paper and a Nap

I’m sneaky and coy – I wait till they are not watching and then I go in the bathroom and steal my FAVORITE toy – toilet paper.  It’s so soft and fun to munch on and tear apart and there’s SOO much of it – I just can’t get enough.  Dad is mad since I destroyed at least 10 rolls in the last 2 weeks.  I overheard him saying he was going to hide it in the drawer.  Has he forgotten I can open drawers?  Hmmm..

After Dad had chased me this afternoon he was really tired of hide and seek so he took a little nap on my bed and I thought I would keep him company.  I guess he has to go to the gym more to keep up with me…and what is up with that farmer tan?
